Taxify Reacts To The Attempted Rape By One Of Their Drivers

Taxify , an online taxi company has reacted to the story making rounds over their driver who was pepper sprayed over sexual molestation and rape. Dorcas Shola Fapson , the lady in the middle of rape issue has cried out over the social media that she was sexually molested and she defended herself by using pepper spray.

In a swift reaction to the story, the taxi company has reassured Nigerians that the company is doing all it can to ensure that such an incident is curtail. With zero tolerance to crime and sexual abuse , Taxify stated that ;

” At taxify, we take all matters of safety very seriously. In fact, providing safe and reliable transportation for people is one of our main priorities as a company.

We are continuously looking to improve safety for both driver-partners and riders’. This includes utilising technology, but also driver education and making sure we investigate every complaint in detail and, in cases of serious incidents, cooperate with law enforcement agencies as they carry out investigations. Feedback from our customers is also extremely valuable in improving the overall experience.

In the aforementioned incident, we have contacted the rider to express our apologies and are working with the authorities to bring clarity into the matter. Due to the seriousness of the allegations, the driver’s account and access to the platform have been suspended immediately.

We are committed to providing reliable ride experiences for our riders. Creating a safe environment is an absolute part of this, ” the company concluded .
