Last Updated on April 7, 2025 by admin

In today’s interconnected world, the ability to share and transfer data seamlessly is crucial for staying connected and productive. Airtel, one of the leading telecommunications providers, offers a convenient Data Share & Gifting service that allows users to share their data  with family and friends or transfer data between devices.

The Data Share service, also known as Me2U, allows users to transfer a portion of their existing data allowance to another Airtel user. This service is ideal for those who have surplus data and wish to share it with friends or family.

On the other hand, the Data Gifting service enables users to purchase a new data bundle for another subscriber using their airtime balance. Both services require the sender and recipient to be Airtel subscribers with active data plans

Sharing is caring, but it’s also essential to keep track of how much data each member of your shared plan is using. Use the Airtel Thanks app to monitor data usage across all shared plans and avoid any unexpected data shortages.

How do Data Me2U differ from Data Gifting?

Data Me2U and Data Gifting are both Airtel services for sharing data, but they work differently:

  1. Data Me2U:
    • This allows you to share a portion of your existing active data bundle with another Airtel user.
    • The shared data retains the same validity as your original bundle.
    • Example: If you have 1GB of data, you can transfer a part of it (e.g., 200MB) to someone else.
  2. Data Gifting:
    • This involves buying a new data bundle for another Airtel user directly from your account.
    • The recipient gets a fresh data bundle with its own validity period, independent of your current plan.

In short, Data Me2U shares from your existing data, while Data Gifting purchases a new bundle for someone else
