The month of October can be said to be “all things” women, from breast cancer awareness to girl child day. Having this in mind, this month is also a special moment for the Women of Destiny , a women wing of Faith Cathedral Ministry, Egbeda , Lagos. The women used this month to hold their annual convention which ended today.

Themed “The Woman and the Church” the women used this convention to xray the role and the position of the woman in the modern day church and the society. In an ever changing society which is always fast paced. The women group used this convention to discuss and reiterate the importance of prayer in materialistic world. This convention looked at the spiritual and material role the woman has to play in the family and the society at large.

Speaking about the convention, Winifred Obetoh, the coordinator of the group and the wife of General Overseer opined that the role of a woman is imperative in any family. She enjoined women to be steadfast in their prayers and always play the supportive role to the family .

“She said that women should be encouraged and also try to have a steady income that would be a form of revenue in the family “, she added.

Speaking on the success of the program, Ebele Stepon Nwosu, the coordinator of the convention said ” we thank all those that graced this event and we are elated that this year’s program is a success.”

The convention was a three day event which included seminars, film show, speeches and drama presentation. The Women Of Destiny’s convention is an annual event which the women of Faith Cathedral uses to reach out to the society in a positive way.
