. …..As Group inaugurates Substaintive Executives Directors in Lagos

The President/ CEO, Society for West African Internal Audit Practitioners (SWAIAP), Noble Patrick Nzechukwu has said that the group is focused on training and development of internal auditors in West African States and neighborhood.

Noble Patrick Nzechukwu spoke to our reporter in Lagos yesterday as the group inaugurates its substaintive Executive Directors at Suru- Express Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.

SWAIAP was Incorporated to awake consciousness and relevance of internal auditing in West African States and neighborhood, particularly, to institutionalize internal auditing as a foremost tool for anti-corruption, anti-wastes, inefficiency and ineffectiveness.

To this end, the substantive Executives Directors of SWAIAP were inaugurated to offices by the Transition Committee for Good Governance (TCCG) set up by SWAIAP President /CEO amongst the assemblage of professionals in that auspicious occasion.

SWAIAP Boss in his acceptance speech admonished all the Executive Directors of the body to be committed to the group’s strategic objectives of mitigating all forms of financial and non- financial risks through evidential assurance of effective corporate governance, risk management and Internal control processes and compliance to laws, regulations, policies and procedures. He charged them to embark on rapid membership drive and entrenchment of organizational culture.

“It is important to note that 75 percent of SWAIAP resources is committed to training and developing internal auditors both in Public and private sectors, including employees, consultants, academia, Students, etc., while 20 percent of our resources is committed to conferences, seminars and general information dissemination about global internal auditing and 5 percent to other commitments.
