• Sunti Golden Sugar Estates is located in Mokwa Niger State

• The Sugar Processing plant is a 100,000 tonne capacity plant

• It was constructed at the cost of 50 billion Naira

• Occupies a 17,000 hectares of land, 10,000 of acres of this are already dedicated for sugar cane plantation

• It is entirely a private sector project. Owned by the Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc owners of the Honeywell brand

• Company says it is has the capacity of providing 50,000 direct and indirect jobs to the host state-Niger

• Now the $100 million spent by Nigeria on sugar importation is gradually/drastically going to reduce.

• Increased in the availability of sugarcane end product such as bagasse, press mud and Mollases

• Of the three end products mentioned above, Mollases seem to be the most commercially viable because of its numerous uses as raw materials for production of many products, human and livestock consumptions.
