Teniola and team bring ATCON to GSMA Mobile World Congress



It has been tagged the one of the foremost and biggest convergence of information, communication and technology (ICT) event in the globe. Bringing stakeholders and industry players in one place! The World Mobile Congress, Barcelona, Spain is a place where the “who is who” in the ICT world converge and Nigeria, a country with the biggest ICT market in Africa isn’t left out. Olusola Teniola , the president of the Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) and a host of other members of the association and thereby putting Nigeria in the map.

Over the years, ATCON as an association has been able to bring all the stakeholders in the Nigerian mobile communication space ranging from Telecommunication firms, infrastructure firms and mobile VAS firms forming a strong body that has been able to intervene and influence governmental policies as it regards to the industry. With the able leadership of Teniola, the current president, ATCON has been able to intervene in industrial disputes and manage conflict resolutions without heading to court. This has placed the association as one of the foremost mobile telecommunication body and over the years, they  have developed a synergy with the country regulator, the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).  Image result for MWC2019

The presence of ATCON availed the members the opportunity to sell Nigerian ICT ecosystem to would be investors, develop partnerships and come to  terms with the global best practices as it pertains to telecommunication service  delivery.

The GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, and incorporates a thought-leadership conference featuring prominent executives representing global mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors, and content owners. This 2019 the organizers  addressing the expansion of the event’s focus beyond just mobile technology, Mobile World Congress evolved the event’s name to MWC Barcelona, retaining the familiar acronym, while placing less emphasis on “mobile” to reflect the broadening scope of communications today. The GSMA MWC19 was held in Barcelona from 25th to 28th February 2019.
