WHY I AM TEACHING PEOPLE HOW TO BE TECH SAVVY FOR BETTER PRODUCTIVITY – IFY OBIDI

Hello friend, I want to tell you about a part of me you might not be aware of. I was once termed technologically lazy, You’re surprised? Don’t be. When I heard people use some tech words, I couldn’t comprehend, so my mind will be shot out completely. The worst part of it was that, I didn’t know it was a challenge.

Another thing that was so hard for me was to read or post text contents on social media. So when you read my long and interesting post, and you’re like, you need to write a book, you would make a great author, it didn’t start like that.

Now, you may ask, why are you telling me this? I have met and talked with a lot of people who think they can’t become Tech-Savvy, that is, become knowledgeable about technology, because they know little or nothing about technology. So when I say, sign up for a course or programme, you are scared of giving it a try because it’s hard to believe you can actually become like me, Tech-Savvy. So to answer your question, you can attain my level of Tech-Savviness and even more if you can just make that leap.

A lot of emphasis have been made on why it is important to become Tech-Savvy, but not much emphasis has been given on how to make money with these tech skills. I would share my experience to help you gain better insights.

Late last year, I had taught over 50 people on some major tech tool for free. Very noble indeed, but my intellectual property was not yielding me monetary gains and I needed finances BADLY. What was the problem? I didn’t believe people could pay for what I knew. Until one day, I was on social media, I saw an e-flier, it was a training worth 10,000 Naira. The shocking thing was that this training was organized by one of my students. At that moment, I believed in what I knew, the courage to monetize my tech-skills and set a price that was commensurate with my value offering came upon me suddenly. With that boldness, I organized my first paid masterclass, on the 4th of February 2017 with amazing registrations. A school registered 14 teachers to attend, and others came from different schools and professions. I made a 6 figure profit, that month. Please note that cost of organization was not included. Wow!!! After that masterclass, greater doors opened.

On another occasion, I was just having a conversation with someone and I sold my course in five minutes to two people from the comfort of my room. This is to make you understand that you can do likewise. So becoming Tech-Savvy goes beyond leaving a legacy (which is very important) or becoming efficient, you will be able to earn from what you know. Become the upgrade version .
