Shun Greed, Imbibe Integrity, EFCC Tells Nigerian Students

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, 13th June, 2018 at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja hosted students and officials of the Eagle House Education Centre, Kuje, Abuja on an excursion visit to the Commission.

Zainab Bello Tifi, Schools Integrity Club Desk Officer of the EFCC, welcomed the students and enlightened them on corrupt acts such as exam malpractice, bribery, economic and financial crimes. Corruption brings about poverty, lack of basic infrastructure like good schools, hospitals.


‘I am glad to have you here at the EFCC, what you learn here educate others. I urge you to make integrity your watchword, do the right thing even when no one is watching, do not be greedy and be good examples to your peers. Be disciplined and hardworking; read you books for a bright future”, Tifi said.
She encouraged the School to create an integrity club to encourage pupils and youths to join in the war against corruption. The integrity club will serve as a link between your school and the EFCC.

Also speaking, Dr. Boma Imoke, of the Research Department of the EFCC Academy sensitized the students on the establishment, structure, and functions of the Commission. ‘I want you to take the issue of corruption seriously because it affects not only you and I, but every Nigerian, go back home and spread the message what you have learnt here today, be bold, vigilant, also remember if you see something, say something’.
Head, EFCC Media Academy, Chidimma Amanambu, presented Information, Education and Communication materials on behalf of the Ag. EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu and further encouraged the students to join the Integrity club.

Adeosun Precious of JSS 1 presented the vote of thanks, on behalf of the students, ‘we appreciate the gesture by granting us this opportunity, having learnt so many things here today, we will do our best to be great leaders of tomorrow’, she said.
In his remark, the Coordinator of the visiting students, Mr. Lekan Adesuyi thanked the EFCC for accepting their request for the visit, also praised the Commission on the re-invigorated anti-corruption fight led by the Acting Executive Chairman Mr. Ibrahim Magu.
