Oliveth Cloud Marks Five Years In Business, Unveils SME Clinic

Five years in any business is a landmark. With harsh investment and business climate in the country, celebrating five years of successful business is worth celebrating. Having this in mind, Oliveth Cloud an information technology (IT) with focus  in software development, sales and cloud computing marked 5 years of being in business and the company used the opportunity to unveil SME clinic, a product designed to help Nigerian start-ups and reward staff of the company.

Engr. Chioma Okoli in her welcome address the founder of the Oliveth Cloud said that she is very thankful to everyone.  Oliveth Cloud started some years ago. With the initial dream birthed when she was in University days. With a lot of mentors that changed as mentored her. The mentors made her to understand the importance of entrepreneurship.  In her words ” We focused as software development as an initial fulcrum, with a wave of cloud computing that came into play, we just keyed into it. There are challenges like skill gaps that we faced in the IT space. We have partnered with so many firms such as Sage, Microsoft and with over five thousand clientele base we have in our service. “She showered appreciations to partners and customers.

Martha Alade, Founder, Women in Technology in Nigeria and   one of the women that mentored Oliveth Cloud in her keynote speech said that “there is however a great gender imbalance in technology, which should be a concern to all because today’s rapid societal development hinges on technology, ad development will not thrive without gender balanced teams.”

Martha added that people like Chioma are examples that the young girls of today need in order to be in tune with the STEM subjects and come to appreciate technology. “It is said that the widening gap in the technology adoptions with the women is getting wider with a lot of young women disinterested in tech based courses. It is looking as if t women in Nigeria are having a challenge adapting to technology. With Oliveth Cloud, this has shown that Women can power a tech enabled firm” Martha opined.

The company used the occasion to unveil a product known as SME clinic designed to help other businesses survive. In the words of Chioma Okoli, “In the last 5 years we have been receiving from grants from international bodies like Tony Elumelu etc. We are using this opportunity to give back to the society. We are using this medium to give back to the small and medium enterprises.”

The SME clinic has subsidized the solution and the SME clinic would be looking at Sales, Sage, Finance and other. The SME Clinic is a three month program for students (business owners) and with collaboration with banks for the SME clinic. With other future collaborations, the SME clinic would be of help to the emerging businesses.

“The idea of SME clinic is to help businesses grow and this would rid the society of poverty. We decide to give back to the society we are here and we are here to grow the country”, she concluded.
