Nigeria, Turkey Meet to Champion a Common Cause

Building on the fact that Nigeria, Turkey bilateral trade volume stands above $489,73 Million US Dollars, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM led a high powered delegation to hold bilateral discussion with representatives from the Turkish Government.

The meeting focused on Capacity Development (Scholarship for Nigerian Students); National Information Security System Platform for SIM and Mobile registration using digital identity; Cybersecurity; e-Government development and Broadband penetration.

The gathering held at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Ankara, Turkey, in attendance was the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Nigeria Ambassador to Turkey H.E Iliyasu Audu Paragalda, Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Engr Ubale Ahmed Maska, representative of Oracle, among others.

At the end of discussions, a technical joint committee was set, His Excellency, President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also extended his regards to his Nigerian counterpart, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
