The Nigerian Communications Commission organized Consumer Conversation, an interactive forum aimed at protecting, educating and empowering Consumers of telecom Services so as to make informed choices on the uses of ICT products and services.
Helen Obi Head Zonal Operation NCC during her speech stated that this Forum tagged Consumer Conversation is meant to address topical issues in the industry like the activation of the “Do-Not-Disturb” (DND) 2442 Services across all telecom networks.
Similarly, participants were informed of the NCC Toll Free Line (622) provided by the NCC to enable Consumers escalate unresolved issues they may have reported to their service operators which may not have been resolved to their satisfaction.
Participants were also educated on the Consumer Bill of Rights. The Nigeria Communications Commission as a Federal body responsible for regulating telecom service, offers Basic Rights of Consumer to help Consumers understand their rights as Stakeholders in Telecom Industry.
In Conclusion, the Head Zonal Operation thanked and implored Participants to participate actively and ask all relevant questions that will help to make informed choices as they go ahead with the use of ICT services in the Country.
