Man Utd set deadline to kickoff Mourinho contract talks

Manchester United plan to open new contract talks with Jose Mourinho before the end of this season.

The Daily Mail says the Portuguese has 18 months left on his three-year deal, with the option of a further campaign taking him to 2020.

United are keen for Mourinho to remain in charge for longer and sources had suggested that could be for as long as a decade.

Discussions are expected to commence in the coming months after United’s encouraging start which leaves them just two points behind rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.

Mourinho is thought to hold ambitions to coach at international level but club chiefs are not worried about the potential of him departing anytime soon.
