May 1 of every year is a year that has been set aside globally for workers. This is the day the plight of workers all over the world are looked into, Nigeria inclusive. Having said that, the Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has praised the workers for their steadfastness and believe in the country and the space.
Speaking on the May Day celebration, Ekweremadu was of praises to the Nigerian workers and he encouraged them to keep doing the good works which is putting the economy on the track. In his words he said ,
“I duff the hat to Nigerian workers on their day. I salute your industry, sacrifice, resilience, and patriotism. You’re the pivots and pillars of nation building… Happy May Day and more grace to you.”
This has shown that the legislature understand the plight of the workers and having been instrumental to the recent salary review , the Senate, Ekweremadu and the leadership of the house has shown that they understand the plight of the Nigerian workers and would do anything to alleviate that .
