Is Ambode land travel port a product of creative and transformational leadership?

For me as an admirer of innovation, I see the Ambode land travel port as a product of creative and transformational leadership .let me first confess my admiration for the governor and not neccesarily his party . He may not have groomed flowers and transplanted trees, like his predecessor, but he has been very methodical and meticulous in his project management style.

My personal experience with the lekki redesigned roundabouts is a classic example of how ideas rule the world. While his predecessor, left the super busy lekki Epe highway with stadium sized roundabout at almost every kilometre, obviously to allow for road furniture and beatification,he did not consider functionality nor daily migration of the populace to the island. While green grass brings nature closer to motorists , it was usually a painful experience, travelling through the road. For example, I wouldn’t bother travel to my house somewhere in Ajah, until 10pm, when I can be sure of not spending more than an hour from V.I to my house in Ajah.

Going earlier could mean spending hours in traffic plus the risk of being attacked by traffic robbers. But what has Ambode done? He simply removed the roundabouts, redesigned the interlinked junctions, in a simple , functional and traffic management friendly. There are many other projects across the state including the notorious Gbagada bus stop. His bridges are not for decoration . They are built with effective traffic management principle.

I need not talk about his sustainable destination branding approach. I love his use of art and metal works in the city beautification. So, referring to the ikeja bus terminus as “bus stop”? That must be a joke taken too far. Certainly, not that destination branding bus terminus. Travel points wether sea, land or air serves as places for tourists or people’s experience of modern city. We are not proud of our international airport today, because it is anything but inspiring.

Why will anybody (not even for political reason) not appreciate Ambode’s mindset of building a mega city by building futuristic infrastructure and facilities? Again, this is not an endorsement of APC as a party , but Ambode as a visionary leader.
