The Nigerian Senate passed the Bill for an Act to Establish the Federal Polytechnic, Mpu in Enugu State. This is in line to grow capacity in the state. A move facilitated by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

Speaking on the establishment of the institution, Ekweremadu said “I sponsored the Bill to address the absence of a federal polytechnic in Enugu State, particularly Enugu West Senatorial District. ”

He continued “this poly will equip our youth academically and with skills that will help them excel in life.”

“As an institution, the school will open a new window of opportunities for them to realise their enormous potentials and dreams” he concluded.

Education and capacity building have been identified as the fulcrum on which any region would develop. The ability to build the critical mass of educated populace is imperative in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). With this in place, the state is on the right track to achieving a sustainable development.
