#IamEkweremadu: OSITA CHIDOKA REPLIES UCHE EZECHUKWU ON EKWEREMADU

Oga Uche Ezechukwu , I appreciate the point you are trying to make but it is an unnecessary point. I think the key issue here is the need to build a pan Igbo consensus that our votes count in the Nigerian context. We supported Zik in 1979 he did not make it. We supported Ekwueme in 1999 he did not make it. We supported Jonathan against a northern gang up, he lost. Now we are supporting Atiku against a North/West coalition, we need to win. For our self confidence and future in the Nigerian project.

💥Fighting an imaginary war against saboteurs will only lead to the outcome of the past. Ekweremadu is a proud Igbo man, an intellectual who has consistently spoken out against the divisive and morally bankrupt government of APC. The issue of internal politics of PDP should not becloud our sense of recent history. I can assure you on good authority that Ekweremadu is not, did not and will not oppose Obi’s nomination as Vice President.

💥I also need to point out that the travel ban is a travesty that will not stand against a Deputy Senate President, so Ekweremadu is not afraid as no ban has been placed on him.

💥Ikeoha is not facing any corruption charges before any court. More importantly Ekweremadu, who holds a PhD in Law, should be praised for his principled position that the special prosecutor Obla has no power to demand a declaration of assets from him as he has fulfilled the statutory requirement of declaring his assets to the code of conduct bureau. Ike has remained fearless, committed and bold in proposing alternate narratives to the issues of nation building, restructuring and good governance. I recommend his book “Who will Love my Country” to all those interested in understanding his worldview and position on critical national question.
