Enyinnaya Nwosu Speaks on Rebuilding the Nigerian Health Sector

I am Enyinnaya Nnaemeka Nwosu, and by the grace of God , I am running for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019.

I want to talk about the importance of Restructuring, Rebrabding and Rebuilding the Nigerian Health Sector.

There is no doubt that our Health Sector has become a total collapse.

It will be our priority to reform and put in place a good Regulatory Framework for the Health Sector in partnership with Nigeria Medical Association, Dental Association of Nigeria, Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria and Trade Unions in the Sector.

We need to set a standard expected for Hospitals.

There must be a set level of equipment, Staff, Facilities and Insurance Cover, put in place to regulate our Private Hospitals.

Doctors setting up Clinics and Hospitals in flats or building with mere hospital beds and injection trays would not be tolerated.

This policy will encourage Medical Partnership, where few Doctors will bring their resources/manpower to set up very standard Hospitals or Clinics that will indeed provide good and efficient Medical Care.

There would be a National Hospital built in every State of the Federation, to complement Federal Medical Centres and General Hospitals.

University Teaching Hospitals would be upgraded to Medical Research Centres.

When all these are set up, our Consultants and Doctors in diaspora will return home to complement the efforts of our dear home based Doctors.

Hospitals must have proper Insurance cover put in place for negligence compensation to victims. This will bring out the best practice.

You have the chance to do something today. Join the moving Train to restore the dignity of Our Nation.
