Ekiti South Federal Constituency one aspirant in Ekiti State, under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Segun Adekola, has urged all Muslim in the state and his constituency to be united in love and prayers at this season in order to solve the nation’s myriad of socio-economic challenges.
In his Sallah message released by his media team, Adekola said that it was only when the people become united in prayers and supplication to Almighty Allah that “we can receive His benevolence and mercy.”
According to him, “No doubt, it is a tough time for us as a nation. The various challenges the people face have potentials to derail our national aspirations but really, we cannot afford to lose hope. We must stay together, pray and make the right choices.
“We must also imbibe the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir which among other things include love, tolerance, sacrifice, humility, sharing, religious and peaceful co-exitence. Eid-el-Kabir is not only for merry-making, we must live the lessons from the submission of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail, to the commandment of their creator.”
The house of representatives member who’s aspiring for the second term, further highlighted unity as vital ingredient needed by the people to demand good governance and better welfare from the leaders.
He said, “As another general election approaches, the people must look beyond prayers and sacrifices, speak with one voice in demanding a better life; which starts with making credible choices to lead. But if the people are not together, insincere persons will creep in again.”
