A housewife, Mrs. Bukola Ogun, may be charged to court after she was arrested by the police for planning her own kidnap.
Nigerian Tribune reported that Mrs. Bukola’s intention was to extort money from her husband and also make him relocate her to the US, as he is an American citizen.
Mrs. Bukola connived with a two-man gang, among whom was his cousin, to carry out the kidnap.
At about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, Mrs. Bukola was kidnapped to an unknown destination while her kidnappers called her husband hours later to demand a ransom of N10million.
The husband who didn’t know that his wife was involved in the kidnap immediately called the police who began a manhunt.
During an intensive investigation, two suspects were arrested, and they confessed the involvement of the victim.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Bukola had lodged in a hotel in Ibadan for the three days that she was away while efforts were on to rescue her.
Mrs. Bukola, who had been married to her husband for six years with two children, in her confession to the police, said, she regrets it all.
